The Hawaii International Music Festival will finish its third season in a collaborative concert with the Hawaii Chamber Music Festival as they wrap up their second season. The Wave of Life, a special multidisciplinary program, will feature carefully curated projections of the water and ocean by Carlin Ma. It will finish with Franz Schubert’s celebrated String Quintet in C Major featuring internationally acclaimed and local legend and Hawaii Symphony Concertmaster Ignace Jang.
Alongside her visual art, HIMF Co-Founder and Artistic Director, Carlin Ma a distinguished pianist, will team up alongside University of Hawaii at Manoa pianist Jonathan Korth on piano solo and chamber works. Schubert’s transcendent Cello Quintet will feature Hawaii Symphony Associate Principal Cellist Sung Chan Chang, Hawaii Symphony Concertmaster Ignace Jang, Louisiana Philharmonic Assistant Principal Cellist Daniel Lelchuk, International Tchaikovsky Prize-Winning Violinist Eric Silberger, Violist Andrew Gonzales. Internationally Acclaimed Metropolitan Opera Soprano Amy Shoremount-Obra and 2018 International Bach Competition Prize Winning Pianist Andrew Rosenblum will also perform some of Rachmaninoff’s most famous and beloved songs.
